Betty (Hamilton) Hardin

Betty Ann Hardin, 84, a resident of the Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, OH., went to be with her Lord Sunday, August 14, 2022. She was born in South Shore, KY., October 28, 1937 a daughter of the late John Hamilton and Betty Vanderpool Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Hamilton (Isabelle), Delmar Hamilton (Mary) and Earl Hamilton; two sisters, Dessa Jones (James W.) and Irma Jean Hamilton: two nieces, Rita Hamilton and Annette Hamilton; two nephews, Mike Hamilton and Billie Hamilton.

Surviving is her husband Roy L. Hardin who she married in 1956 in South Shore, KY; one niece, Kathy (Aaron) Adams of Wheelersburg, OH; one nephew, James D. Jones of Sebring, FL.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Shore, KY., for 55 years, where she served in several different capacities. She was employed in the Accounting Department of Williams Manufacturing Company in Portsmouth, OH; Secretary to the principal at McKell High School in South Shore, KY; Secretary, Bookkeeper and Office Manager at Hamilton Electric Company Inc. in South Shore, KY., and also worked at the South Shore branch of the Greenup County Public Library.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brother Russell Foster and Pastor Mark Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
