Betty Darlean (Traylor) Jenkins

Betty Darlean Traylor Jenkins, 85, of New Boston, OH., formerly of South Shore, KY., went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in Fullerton, KY., April 12, 1938 a daughter of the late Charlie and Mellie Mathews Traylor.

She was a Christian and retired from Mitchel Lace in Portsmouth, OH., with 48 years of service.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Traylor and Bill Traylor; three sisters, Edna Traylor, Louise Pennington and Lavania Adkins; one daughter, Rita E. Curry and one grandson, Brent Adkins. Several Aunts, Uncles and Mickey her cat she dearly loved.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Terry E. Jenkins and James R. Curry; one brother, Mintford (Hazel) Traylor; three grandsons, Eric Curry, Jethro “Jettie” Jenkins and Justin W. Hanley; two granddaughters, Nicole “Nickie” Stevens and Brandy Dawn Brown; three great-grandsons, Gavin W. Hanley, Bryson D. Hanley and Xric Curry. Along with several nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M.  Friday, July 7, 2023 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Pastor Mike Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Jamison Cemetery in Garrison, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday at the funeral home from 12 P.M. until the service hour.
