Billy R Hayden (1930-2023)
Billy R Hayden, passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus Ohio on April 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his Father Robert T Hayden and Laura Lambert Hayden; wife, Freda Smith Hayden; two brothers, Robert Hayden Jr, & Lovell Mitchell Hayden; two sisters, Betty Bryant Butcher & Evelyne Smith; son-in-law, Carl Wilburn Jr. & great grandson, Brandon Howerton.
He is survived by three daughters; Arlana (Bob) Walker of South Shore Ky; Diana (Gary) Traylor of Knoxville TN; & Cheryl Wilburn of South Shore Ky. Five grandchildren; Stephanie (Brad) Howerton, Chris (Amanda) Walker, Brian Traylor, Brandi (Shane) Addington, and Brittany (Daniel) Leport; 10 great grandchildren, Ashley Howerton, Allison Howerton, Amy Howerton, Isaac Howerton, Morgan Wisener, McKenzie Traylor Green, Lexy Traylor Patterson, Zachary Traylor, Cameron Fraley and Ty Eades; two great-great grandchildren, Pierce Patterson and Samara Green.
He was the son of a farmer and went to work in the fields at age six with his other siblings. As an adult he was the owner of Billy R Hayden Excavating & Trucking Company and well known in the community. He operated his business until his eyesight forced him into early retirement, but he never stopped gardening and mowing until his later years. Known for always saying “See Ya” but never “Goodbye”. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
At Billy’s request there will be a private memorial service at a later date. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., are caring for arrangements.
