Brenda Rister

Brenda Kay Rister, 72, of South Shore, KY., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born January 13, 1952 in Vanceburg, KY., a daughter of Raymond Branham and the late Doris Joan Branham.

Brenda was a homemaker, proud mother and grandmother, she had a green thumb and loved her plants. She loved and adored her family and friends, an avid animal lover and an all-around great person.

Along with her mother she is preceded in death by her husband Roger Rister and brother Roger (Judy) Greenfield.

Left behind to cherish her memory are three children, Carla (Travis) Patton of Vanceburg, KY., Chris (Amanda) Montieth of Portsmouth, OH., and Travis (Melanie) Penix of Ashland, KY; one sister, Barbara (Curtis) Williams; two brothers, David (Tammy) Branham and John (Christine) Kennard eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren who was her whole world. Along with many other nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were held at 1 P.M. Monday, June 17, 2024 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Scott Robinson officiating. The burial followed at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, KY. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
