Candace "Sue" (Ratliff) Conley

Candace “Sue” Ratliff Conley, 72, of South Portsmouth, KY., made her journey to her heavenly home on January 7, 2024 with her husband and her sisters by her side. She was born in South Portsmouth, KY., November 3, 1951 a daughter of the late Samuel L. Ratliff Sr and Mertie G. Osborne Ratliff.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Samuel L. Ratliff III and one niece, Jenny Ratliff Potts.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years Jerry Conley; three sisters, Barbara Jean Mullins of Pound, VA., Gloria Howerton of South Portsmouth, KY., and Joyce (Douglas) Stapleton of Greenup, KY; also a host of nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her.

She was a graduate of McKell High School and worked at Mitchell Lace in Portsmouth, OH., for many years. Sue loved gardening, going to the stockyard sales, and going to flea markets with her husband Jerry. She also loved quilting.

Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
