Catherine Joyce LeMaster

Catherine Joyce LeMaster, 85, of South Shore, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. Born October 2, 1939, in Louisa, Kentucky, to the late Herbert and Mable Blanche Vaughan Lemaster, Catherine lived a life rooted in family, faith, and quiet acts of love.

As a teenager, Catherine moved to Portsmouth, Ohio, to live with her sisters Mary and Telia. She attended Portsmouth High School and worked at Martings Department Store before becoming a dental assistant—a role she held with care and dedication for over 30 years.

Catherine was a devoted and nurturing mother to her three children: Ronda Kay Fuller, Ruth Renee Perry (Tim), and Eric Bryan LeMaster (Barbie), all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her children’s father, Ronald B. LeMaster.

Her legacy lives on in her many grandchildren: Heather Fuller, Harrison Fuller, Majal Carie (Nate), Brysen Perry (Tiffany), Mesa Perry (Leo), Baylen Perry, Alexandre LeMaster (Audra), Adam LeMaster, and Major LeMaster; great-grandchildren: Ashton Fuller, Sarah Gibson, Maleah Fuller, Kamaya Fuller, Makenna Perkins, Lilliann Perkins, Valencia Fuller, Fern Carie, Rosemary Carie, and Heath Carie; and great-great-grandchildren: Zayne Fuller, Aidyn Fuller, Mar’siah Cox, and Wynter Cox.

Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Henry Rex Lemaster, Herbert Lemaster Jr., Charlie James Lemaster, William “Bill” Lemaster, Ellen Miller, Elsie Lemaster, Hester Foreman, Ruth Williams, Telia Stinnett, Mary Shortridge, and Elnor Christine Lemaster.

She found joy in life’s quiet rituals—walking daily with neighbors, sewing and crocheting gifts for loved ones, and tending to her herb garden. A woman of Christian faith, Catherine found deep meaning in nurturing those around her. A devoted lover of birds, Catherine created a backyard sanctuary where they could gather, sing, and be fed—bringing her daily peace and delight. 

Christmas time was her favorite season, and she made it feel like something out of a storybook. Catherine spent weeks preparing in quiet joy—filling tins with handmade candies, chocolate-dipped delights, and bowls of her famous Chex Mix. Her home would glow with the soft light of vintage ornaments, handmade heirlooms, and lovingly chosen decorations. Every detail was touched with care, from the scent of warm spices drifting from the kitchen to the carefully wrapped gifts tucked beneath the tree. She served the same beloved dishes each year—recipes passed down, perfected, and made sacred by tradition. For her family, Christmas was not just a holiday, but a season of warmth, wonder, and deep belonging—all because of her.

Her hands created beauty, her words offered comfort, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services will be 12 P.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Minister Phil Lemaster officiating. Burial will follow at Fairchild-Lemaster Cemetery in Louisa, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will be: Harrison Armstrong Fuller, Alexandre Brant LeMaster, Adam Lucas LeMaster, Ronald Major LeMaster, David Lemaster, and Darrell Lemaster.
