David Ralph Lintz, 78 of South Shore, Kentucky passed away April 24, 2021. He was born February 6, 1943 In Portsmouth, Ohio a son of the late Ralph and Erma Oakes Lintz. Dave was a devoted and beloved father, grandfather and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Ellaree Fyffe Lintz whom he married March 24, 1963. Together they raised their two daughters Shaunda (Dean) Nickel and Andria Allen all of South Shore, KY; four grandchildren, Jeff Nickel, Courtney (Aaron) Bailey, Taylor (Jake) Hanagan, Chloe Orrell; seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Haylen, Ella, Emma, Hazel, Maggie and Claire; one brother, Richard (Judy) Lintz of Lakeland, Florida and a sister Carolyn (Dave) Deemer of Portsmouth, Ohio. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Dave was baptized into the First Lutheran Church of Portsmouth, Ohio. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1961 where he played football and ran track and field. He resided in South Shore, Kentucky and retired from North American Refractories after 32 years of service in 1998. He was known to all who knew him for his sense of humor, storytelling and his abilities as a carpenter, mechanic and beekeeper. He loved going to ball games and worked the chain gang for the Greenup County Football team for 25 years. He was a big supporter of the Shawnee State Women’s Basketball team coached by his grandson Jeff Nickel. Dave loved his family, never met a stranger and loved to talk. His wife Ellaree stated “Today I not only lost my husband but my best friend. He took the best part of me with him…my heart. I will miss him forever”.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brett Unger officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1 P.M.
