Earl Walker Obituary

Earl Stephen Walker, 65, of Ashland, KY., passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born July 31, 1954 in Greenup, KY., a son of the late James Walker and Alfreda Phelps Walker.

Steve worked various jobs throughout his life, but his passion was for people. He considered himself a “Good Will Ambassador” in street ministry. He was a friend to all in need, literally giving the clothes off his back. He was a fine musician, loved to tune church pianos and play music at various churches. He loved God, he loved his family and the world is a much darker place without him.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Larry Phelps.

Left behind to cherish his memory are one daughter, Katie (Dave Conley) Hughes of Ashland, KY; one niece, Jess Nolen of Ashland, KY; three nephews, Barry Nolen of Ashland, KY., Rick Phelps of Ironton, OH., and Kyle Kitchen of Argillite, KY; one brother, Mike Phelps of Ironton, OH; two sisters, Brenda Nolen of Ashland, KY., and Cheryl (Mike) Kitchen of Argillite, KY; one brother-in-love, Glen (Bryant) Howard of Flatwoods, KY; two beloved grandchildren, Grayson and Melodie Conley both of Ashland, KY. Along with one aunt, Ann Howard of Argillite, KY; seven cousins, Angie Fraley (Jeff) Hurn of Greenup, KY., Jeff (Renee) Phelps of OH., Jill (Joe) Decarolis of FL., Gary (Libby) Phelps of Grayson, KY., Tim Howard of Argillite, KY., Tony (Cindy) Howard of Columbus, OH and Kathy (John) Bradley of Ashland, KY; a special friend Gary Chaffins of Ashland, KY; two ex-wives, Anita Garretson of Ashland, KY and Deb Vallance of Wurtland, KY., whom he never stopped loving.
