Elmer Wade Bailey

Elmer Wade Bailey, 87, of Greenup, KY., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in York, KY., January 1, 1934 a son of the late Millard and Mae Miller Bailey.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Anna Lou Bailey; two brothers, Hershel Bailey and Phillip Bailey.

Elmer was the Load Christian Baptist Church Sunday School Superintendent, Past Master of Greenup Lodge F&AM 89, a U.S. Army Veteran, 40 year Director on the Greenup County Farm Bureau Board and retired from CSX Railroad. He enjoyed Farming and spending time with his family and friends.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Geneva Shepherd Bailey whom he married June 11, 1953; two daughters, Cindy (Charley) Marshall of Greenup, KY and Beth Ann (David) Boggs of South Shore, KY; one son, David (Sherri) Bailey of Greenup, KY; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Burke, Stacy (Danny) Bryant, Joshua Marshall, Matthew (Courtney) Boggs, Megan (Drew Scaggs) Boggs, Jerome T. (Amanda Leitenberger) Boggs, Brad (Rae Ann Willis) Bailey and Jessica (Kyle) Murray; ten great grandchildren Mallory Burke, Kylie Burke, Jackson Burke, Mason Bryant, Trenton Bryant, Easton Bryant, Carleigh Marshall, Paizley Marshall, Caroline Murray and Kacee Bailey. Along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Load Christian Baptist Church in Load, KY with Pastor Robbie Bond and Britt Bush officiating. Burial will follow at LeMaster Cemetery in Greenup, KY. Visitation will be at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Sunday at the Church one hour prior to the service.
