Evelyne M. Smith

Evelyne M. Smith, 97 of Portsmouth, Ohio died September 1, 2018 at Hillview Retirement Center.

She was born Sept. 7, 1920 in Fullerton, Kentucky to the late Robert and Laura Hayden.

She married James Wallace Smith on July 29, 1937.

Surviving are her son James (Edna) Smith of Lancaster, Ohio, daughter-in-law Guadalupe Smith of Houston, Texas, brother Billy Hayden of South Shore, Kentucky, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, son Richard, daughters Barbara, Adrienne and Roberta, brother Robert Hayden Jr.("Junior"), brother Lowell Hayden ("Mitch"), and sister Betty.

She retired from Mitchellace in Portsmouth, Ohio and was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday Sept. 6, 2018 at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery also in South Shore, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the funeral service.
