Florence L Howell

Florence L. Howell, 79, passed away on February 28, 2025, at SOMC Hospice.  She was born April 15, 1945, in Ironton, OH., to the late James Bailey and Dora Smith, who survives. 

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” Miles and one grandchild. 

Florence spent her life caring for others in many capacities. She was a loving wife, mother and caregiver as a nurse’s aide.  She also enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with her family. 

With her mother, she is also survived by her husband, Ron Howell, who she married February 9, 1994; 2 daughters Kimberly (Tim) McGinnis of Ashland, KY and Rebecca Wicker of Wheelersburg, OH; a sister, Rebecca Kilgore; a brother, George Bailey; a grandchild and many other family and friends that will sadly miss her. 

Funeral Service will be at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Gary Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
