Ida Lorraine (Archey) Lyons

Ida Lorraine “Tootie” (Archey) Lyons was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 31, 2022 at the age of 82.

Ida was born to the late Millard and Caroline Matilda Archey in Greenup, Kentucky on June 3, 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers (William Archey, Hobert Archey, Adam Archey, and Donald Archey), two sisters (Thelma Archey and Violet Archey), a grandchild (Christian Campbell), and two special foster children (Rebecca “Becky” Dills and Jenney Groves).

Ida was raised in Greenup County where she later met Ora T. Lyons Jr. and they married on December 12, 1964. She leaves behind seven children (Mark (Heather) Lyons, Judy Lyons, Lora (Tex) Ritter, Bill Lyons, Ora “Trumie” (Hazel) Lyons, Carol (Jason) Buckler, and Robert Campbell). They were also loving, temporary parents to twenty-five foster children.

Left behind to cherish her memories along with her husband and children are; twelve grandchildren (Brent (Miranda), Felisha (Kyle), Brandi (Justin), Douglas, Jessica C., Dalton, Holden, Shelby, Jessica B., Landon, Chloe, Dallas), ten great-grandchildren (Haven, Rayna, Willow, Lucas, Layla, Natali, Braxton, Laykynn, Kipp and Taylee), two brothers, (Lester Archey and Norman Archey) three sisters (Inez Tussey, Loverna Boyles and Clara Gerber). and several special friends.

Ida was a God-fearing, Christian woman. She was a faithful member of the church under the leadership of Pastor Don Harr until his passing. She has since been a faithful member of Corner Stone Pentecostal church. She talked about the church services all the time and how good her church family is. She was always inviting friends and family to church with her.

Ida loved to cook and bake. She always had a smile on her face when all her family would get together for visits, holidays, and reunions. No matter what was going on, you knew you were going to eat and eat well. Ida enjoyed planting and working in the garden. Her favorite time of year was fall. She would take long rides each year just to see all the colors changing. She touched many hearts with her kindness.

Funeral Services will be 2 P.M. Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church 740 State Route 3307 Greenup, KY 41144 with Brother Mark Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday at the church from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY are caring for arrangements.
