JAMES HUNT SOUTH SHORE-James E. (Jim) Hunt, 71, of South Shore, KY. died Wednesday October 14, 2015 at his residence. He was born December 9, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio a son of the late Robert "Red" Hunt and Roberta Fannin Hunt. Jim was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Catherine Porter Hunt. He was retired from Wackenhut Inc., a United States Marine Veteran (Vietnam), a Christian who worshipped at the First Church of God in South Shore, KY., a member of the Sunshine Community Choir, an avid fisherman, hunter and poor golfer. Surviving are his wife Mary Ann Hunt; three children, Michael (Devonda) Hunt of Crestwood, KY., Missy (Jay) Virgin of Oldtown, KY. and Mindy Hunt of Ashland, KY.; three step-children, Jeff (Joanna) Zaph, Kelly (Craig) Adkins and Rusty Zaph all of South Shore; Two grandsons, Austin and Brian Hunt and six step-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Ellen (Sam) French of South Shore. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday October 18, 2015 at the First Church of God Main Street South Shore KY., with Pastor Harold Harness officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore with military graveside rites by James Dickey American Legion Post 23. Visitation will be at the church from 6 to 8 pm Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home in South Shore. Online condolences may be expressed at mortonfh.com.
