JOHN MILTON WILLIAMS, 94, of South Shore, KY, died peacefully on Sunday November
19, 2017 in Cartersville, GA.
He was born April 21, 1923 at Smith Branch, in Greenup County, KY, a son of the
late Wylie Jack Williams and Sarah Craycraft Williams.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen Boyles Williams; a
daughter, Linda Williams; five brothers and three sisters.
He joined the US Navy in 1941 and proudly served in WWII until 1946 in both the
Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He worked for Williams Shoe Co. in Portsmouth, OH
and retired from the Ford Motor Company in Livonia, MI after over 25 years of
service.
John is survived by four children; Judith Rohland, Rena Buda, Charles Williams
and Richard Williams. One brother, Frank Williams; 11 grandchildren and a very
large, loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 25, 2017 at MORTON
FUNERAL HOME in South Shore, KY with Gary Newman officiating. Burial will be in
Siloam Cemetery in South Shore with military graveside rites by James Dickey
American Legion Post 23 of Portsmouth, OH. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am
Saturday. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John Williams's life.
