John J. Wooten, 73, of South Shore, KY died Wednesday May 23, 2018. He was born September 25, 1944 in Mitchell Heights, WV, a son of the late William C. Wooten and Ella Mae (Cooper) Wooten Smith.
John graduated from Wheelersburg High School in 1963. He was a computer whiz and worked for many companies, including Ashland Oil.
He lost the love of his life seven years ago, his beloved wife Audrey, and last year his other love, Phee-Phee the cat. We know he is happy again being with both of them in Heaven.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters; Libby Runyon, Faye Cantrell and Billie Ray Carmichael; and a step-father, William R. Smith.
He is survived by two sisters; Ella May Titus of Warren, Ohio and Gay Garland of Leavittsburg, Ohio.
John loved the Lord and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist. He was not blessed with children of his own, but loved his nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. We will miss his sense of humor and big smile.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday June 1, 2018 at MORTON FUNERAL HOME in South Shore, with James Webster officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Friday from 11am to 1pm.
