Karen Sue Newell

KAREN SUE CARTER NEWELL, 59, of South Shore, KY died Monday December 4, 2017 at
her residence. She was born October 14, 1958 in Portsmouth, Ohio a daughter of
Carl Carter and Betty Skidmore Carter of South Shore.
She was a retired nurse at King's Daughters Medical Center, Three Rivers
Medical Center and the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was a member
of the Beauty Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Doug Newell III;
children, Doug (Crystal) Newell of Clendenin, WV; Stephen (Clarinda) Newell of
Oldtown, KY; Joey (Jill) Newell of Denham Springs, LA; and Lauren Newell of Las
Vegas, NV. Grandchildren; Elijah, Caleb, Ethan, Jacob, Lexington, Kirissa,
Avary, Laila, Andrew and Alaine Newell; one sister, Kathy Jean Munn of South Shore; one brother, Darrell Keith Carter of Virginia; and in-laws, Doug Newell Jr. and Evelyn Newell of South Shore. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday December 7, 2017 at MORTON
FUNERAL HOME in South Shore with Gene Kiger and John Horn officiating. Burial
will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7
to 9 pm.
