Larry J. Tarr

Larry J. Tarr, 68, of Scott Depot, WV., formerly of South Shore, KY., went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1952 in Portsmouth, OH., a son of the late Ted W. and Audrey Sexton Tarr.

Larry was a member of the First Christian Church in South Shore, KY., a Past Master of Harrison Fullerton Lodge #937 in South Shore, KY., and an active member of Scottish Rite in Covington, KY. His passion was his family, opening his home as host father to students who played basketball at his grandchildren’s school at Teays Valley Christian School, as well as enjoying the hobby of hot rods with his brother Montie, his nephews Noel and Shawn and his boys including his prized possession, his 65 GTO.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Tarr.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years Brenda Bentley Tarr; two sons, Dr. Eric (Natalie) Tarr and Dr’s Travis (Holly) Tarr both of Scott Depot, WV; two sisters, Teresa (Kevin) Brown of Ironton, OH., and Patricia Wheeler of Rubyville, OH; one brother, Montie (Leona) Tarr of South Shore, KY; five grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Paige, Alexis and Bentley. Along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Due to COVID-19 restriction imposed by Governor Beshear there will be a private Funeral Service held at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Danny Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY.
