Letha J. McCoy

Letha J. McCoy, 89, of South Shore, KY., passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Oak Hill, OH., November 10, 1933 a daughter of the late Frank and Verna Angelow Shumate.

She served our country in the United States Army.         

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles R. McCoy; one sister, Betty Kelly; three brothers, Dan, Roger and Boden Shumate.

Left behind to cherish her memory are one son, Gary (Michelle) McCoy of South Portsmouth, KY; two daughters, Kathryn (Lowell) Kayser of South Shore, KY., and Julie Johnson of Raceland, KY; two grandchildren, Melissa (Tyler) Conley and Caitlin (Josh) Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Conley-Thompson, Gabriel Conley and Lilah Thompson; one great-great grandchild, Violet Field and several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at MT. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY., with Denny Dawes officiating. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral in South Shore, KY., are caring for arrangements.
