MABEL SKIVER BRUCE

LEXINGTON - Mabel Skiver Bruce, 94, of Lexington, KY, formerly of South Shore, KY died Friday July 22, 2016 in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Skiver and Cora French Skiver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester M. Bruce. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; Katherine Duncan, Bessie Quillen and Dora Skiver; and two brothers, Homer Skiver and Carl Skiver.

She is survived by one son, Randall Bruce of Lexington, KY, where she made her home. She is also survived by one grandson, Sebastian Bruce of Lexington; three nieces, Marilyn Richards of South Shore, Rita Hanson of South Shore and Lois Schumm of Toledo, Ohio.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Shore. She was employed as a supervisor and accounting clerk for 36 years for the telephone company in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Graveside burial services were held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore under the direction of Morton Funeral Home.
