Martin Collier JR.

Martin Collier Jr., 94, of Crystal City, Missouri died Saturday January 30, 2016 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Facility in Crystal City. He was born November 4, 1921 in Fullerton, KY a son of the late Martin Collier Sr. and Marilla Adams Collier. He was a self employed contractor, developer and Professional Engineer. He was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elsie Hendrix Collier of Crystal City. Five sons; Gary (Jeanie) of Tennessee, Rich (Larissa) of Florida, Marty (Marilyn) of Missouri, Jim (Cynthia) of Missouri and Randy (Lori) of Texas. Four siblings; Alice Jones of Ohio, Helen (Jim) Self of Arkansas, Marilyn (Dan) Sater of Florida and Fred (Opal)Collier of Ohio. Twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; John W., Harry and Bill Collier. Two sisters; Ruth Baker and Joyce Roberts; and two grandchildren, Christopher Todd Collier and Vladek Milushev. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday February 6, 2016 at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore with graveside military rites by James Dickey American Legion Post 23. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
