Mary E. (Stacy) Gray

Mary E. (Stacy) Gray, 88, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Concord Health Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio. She was born March 22, 1935 in Winchester, Ohio, daughter of the late Archie H. and Lillie Bell (Saunders) Stacy.

She gave herself to the Lord at the age of 12. Mary was married to the late Henry L. Gray, on October 7, 1960, and they were married for 45 years.

Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by all of her siblings; Aleta Kathryn (Kate) Lallathin, James H. Stacy, Fred L. Stacy, and Wilfert L. Stacy, as well as one nephew, Ernie Stacy, one niece, Debbie (Stacy) Lunsford, and one son-in-law, Duane L. Rigsby.

Mary is survived by one son, Timothy V. Gray, one daughter, Linda Rigsby, two granddaughters, Rebecca S. Gray and Katie Rigsby, one great-granddaughter Saffron Cassidy, all of Portsmouth, Ohio, and two stepchildren, Michelle Frost and Daryl Gray of Springfield Ohio. She also leaves behind several good friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, and several step grandchildren.

Mary worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper early in her working career and after her marriage she was a full time homemaker. Mary was an avid canasta card player and played with the same card club for 40 years.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky, with Jimmy Hadinger officiating and music by Jamie Prater. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday at the funeral home from 12 P.M. until the funeral hour.

A Mercy Meal will be provided by the family at Christ United Methodist Church Hall 5731 Gallia Street, Sciotoville, Ohio, immediately following the burial.
