Mertie G. Ratliff

Mertie G. Ratliff, 87, of South Portsmouth, KY, died Friday October 7, 2016 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born June 2,1929 in South Portsmouth, KY to the late John Franklin Osborne and Nancy Cole Osborne. She was also preceded in death by her husband; Samuel L. Ratliff Sr.; one son, Samuel L. Ratliff Jr.; siblings; Paul, John, Mable, Andy, Donald and Victor Osborne along with seven half-brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four daughters; Barbara Jean (Earlon) Mullins of Pound, VA., Gloria Howerton of South Portsmouth, KY, Candace Sue (Jerry) Conley of South Portsmouth, KY, and Joyce (Doug) Stapleton of South Shore, KY; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was a former employee of Mitchellace Inc. of Portsmouth OH, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. Tuesday October 11, 2016 at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky. with Dave Webster officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm.
