Rick Adkins

August 21, 1956 – February 2, 2025

Rick Adkins, 68, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, after a prolonged illness. Born on August 21, 1956, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Rick was the beloved son of Monnie and Junior Adkins, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Adkins.

Rick is survived by his brother, Ron Adkins; his sons, Brandon Adkins (Emily) and Lance Adkins;and his granddaughters, Amelia Adkins and Jayla Rigsby. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1974, Rick furthered his education at William Carey College, where he pursued his passion for baseball. He was also a proud member of the 1974 American Legion Ohio State Championship team. Throughout his career, Rick was employed at both Liebert Corporation and Kenworth, where he formed lasting friendships. Rick’s love for his family, friends, and teammates will always be remembered. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family appreciates all thoughts, prayers, and support during this time.
