Robert S. "Bob" Bentley

Robert S. “Bob” Bentley, 89, of South Shore, KY., went to be with the Lord Friday, September 16, 2022 at Hillview Retirement Center, Portsmouth, Ohio with his family by his side.  He was born in Letitia, KY., November 22, 1932 a son of the late William Sherman and Laura Bentley. 

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanine Robinson; as well as nine siblings, Elta Mae, Wes, Ollie, Beulah, Howard, Roy, Ota, John and Bud. 

Bob was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church, and a member of Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 both in South Shore, KY.  He enjoyed gardening, mechanical work, and carpentry.  Bob also loved reading, especially history and geography.  He was retired from North American Refractories in South Shore, KY.  

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 71 years, Charlotte Clark Bentley; two sisters, Wanda Dillow and Betty VanHorn; two daughters, Sherry (Gary) Adkins and Annette (Larry) Tussey; one son Rob (Julie) Bentley; one son-in-law, Gary Robinson; six grandchildren, Jason Adkins, Les Tussey, Ryan Adkins, Alicia Blankenship, Sheena Chandler and Lindsay Bentley; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2022 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY with Kenny Fox officiating.  Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 6:00 P.M and one hour before the service on Friday.  Masonic service will begin at 8:00 P.M. Thursday during visitation.
