Veeda Ruth Collier Baker

Veeda Ruth Collier Baker, 90, of Pensacola, Florida died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Broadview Assisted Living in Pensacola. She was born July 31, 1925 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Martin P. Collier and Marilla Adams Collier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Baker and one son, Joseph M. Baker. She was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL. She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Roger) McGarr of Plainfield, IL. and Elizabeth (Crawford) Odom of Pace, FL. and a daughter-in-law, Diane Baker of Cypress, TX. Siblings; Martin Collier, Fred Collier, Alice Jones, Helen Self and Marilyn Sater. Grandchildren; Michael McGarr, Brian McGarr, Scott Baker, John Baker, Rebecca Carpenter and Meredith Bromley. And nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday November 2, 2015 at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, KY. with Pastor Joe Reed officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at mortonfh.com.
