Willie Tackett Obituary

Willie D. Tackett, 87, of South Shore, KY passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at Bridgeport Nursing and Rehab in Portsmouth, OH. He was born July 23, 1933 in Floyd County, KY a son of the late Greenberry Tackett and Emma Hamilton Tackett.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Tackett.

Left behind to cherish his memory are one daughter, Glenna (David) Carpenter of Lucasville, OH; two sons, Ronnie (Debra) Tackett of South Shore, KY and David (Tammy) Tackett of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Ermal (Nell) Tackett of Floyd County, KY; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two on the way. Along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

At the family’s request due to COVID-19 health concerns there will be a private funeral with Gary Howell and Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY are caring for arrangements.
