Wilma Jean Fyffe

Wilma Jean Fyffe, 81, of South Shore, KY., passed away April 25, 2023 at Ashland Community Hospice peacefully with her husband and her grandson by her side along with her loving caregivers, Paula Craft and Rita Thomas. She was born October 8, 1941 in Globe, KY., a daughter of the late George and Rachel Horsley Craycraft.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Melinda Fyffe and Sherri Fyffe; one son, Todd Fyffe; one grandson, James Travis Bowling; six sisters, Darlene, Norsie, Hazel, Inez, Josephine and Barbara; one brother, Vernon and her favorite niece Shirley Munn.

Wilma went to the old McKell School in South Shore, KY., and worked at Old Mercy Hospital in the kitchen before becoming a Homemaker. Wilma loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren dearly and loved to cook for everyone. She loved sewing and quilting in her spare time. She was a member of the South Shore Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Ovie Fyffe whom she married on July 15, 1958. They have cherished a lot of great memories together; two grandsons, Kody (Jessica) Bowling and Jonathan Wiseman; six great-grandchildren, Casen Bowling, Britton Bowling, Seth Sprague, Joey Sprague, Bradley Wiseman and Hunter Wiseman. She also leaves behind many loving friends, family and close brothers and sisters in Christ that will sadly miss her but cherish all of their memories together.

Funeral services will be 12 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brother Joe Hill officiating. Burial will follow at MT Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 28, 2023 at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday.
